Virgie O. Hawks, age 86, of Magnolia, KY, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024. She was a member of Powder Mills Baptist Church. She retired from Louisville Bedding Company. She enjoyed raising kids, cooking, and babysitting for everyone around. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was the daughter of the late William “Billy” Highbaugh and Daisy Ragland Hawks.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Damon Hawks; her brother, Lively Highbaugh; and her sister-in-law, Linda Highbaugh.
She is survived by her two sons, David Hawks (Linda) of Glendale, KY and Phillip Hawks (Angie Druen) of Magnolia, KY; 5 grandchildren, Angela Hawks-Eddy (Nathan), Matthew Hawks (Lauren), Nathan Hawks (Kelci), Spencer Hawks (Monica), and Olivia Hawks (Curtis Green); 10 great-grandchildren, Jayce, Laken, Bexleigh, Lennon, Lydia, Daimon, Noa, Lillianna, Kai, and Colt; a special nephew, Todd Highbaugh (Stacy); two special friends and caregivers, Lisa Eads and Marlene Pippin; and several other family members also survive.
The family will receive visitors at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM CT and again from 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM CT on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24 at 1:30 PM CT with the Bro. Danny Pippin and Bro. Gordon Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
