Stella Mae Mode, age 93, of Morgantown, KY, (formerly of Leitchfield), passed away Saturday, (July 6, 2024) at Morgantown Care and Rehab.
She was born on April 16, 1931 in Butler County, KY, the daughter of the late George and Leora Embry Brooks.
She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers and spending time with her grand kids. Stella was a longtime member of the Wilson Home Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Ann Roberts of Louisville, KY & Betty Southerland (Roger) of Morgantown, KY; a son, Harold Lacefield (Karon) of Clarkson; four grandchildren, Scotty, Justin, Nick & Serena; and four great-grandchildren, Makayla, Kendall, Benjamin & Paul. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Junior Mode; her son-in-law, Phillip Roberts; two brothers, Dewey and Joe Brooks; and three half-siblings, William Bryant, Wavey Burden and Tavia Woosley.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (July 11, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Charles Larry Bell will be officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. (CST) Thursday until time of services.
