Charles Frederick Glaser, age 85 of Smiths Grove, KY passed away on Wednesday June 26th, 2024 at his home.
Charles A.K.A. Charlie or Chuck was born in Muncie, IN on July 26th 1938 to Susan and Frank Glaser. Charles was their second son, the first being Francie Glaser. Charles’ mother Susan passed away approximately 9 months after he was born. His father, Frank was remarried to Esther and had three other children, Joe, Louise and Mary. Joe and Mary are still living.
Charles moved to California in 1958 where he married Gloria Ann Hirsch and raised three children, Steven, Karen and Cathy. They lived in California where he worked for the State of California in the relocation of utilities for the highway department. After retiring in 1990, they moved to Smiths Grove, KY. Gloria Ann passed away in November of 2005 and Charles was remarried to Lyla Perez in 2007 where they lived happily together for 17 years until his death on Wednesday of this week.
He is survived by his wife Lyla; his children, Steven, Karen and Cathy; his grandchildren Lindsay, Bryan, Nicole, Ashley, Sheena and Kayla as well as his great grandchildren, Haley, Kyler, Adalyn, Paxton, Elliott, Connor, Owen, Hayden, Hadley, Dominic, and Ethan.
Funeral Mass is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 9:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel on Friday, June 28 at 2:00pm until 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
