Lois Mae “Nanny” Sweatt, age 89, passed away Friday June 21, 2024 at her home.
The Warren County native was the daughter of the late James Hillory Herrington and Lovie Hendricks Herrington, in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrel Herrington and Charles Herrington and one sister Nell Ruth Cooper.
Lois was a dedicated member of the Mars Hill Church of Christ, Lois was a devoted wife, loving mother, and the best Nanny to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and every other person fortunate enough to have a relationship with her.
She is survived by her husband, George F. Sweatt, children, Kathy Morgan (Phillip), Brett Sweatt (Teri), Donna Anderson, and Stephanie Sweatt (Kevin), six grandchildren, Sonya Page, David Morgan (Penny), Fallon Burch (Johnny), Ashley Smith (Bobby), Nick Anderson (Magon), and Austin Sweatt (Sayrah), eleven great grandchildren, Blake (Ashlyn), Joe, Easton, Kinslee, Maylee, Sierra, Lillee, Poppy, Hadley, Hunter, and Savana, and one great-great grandson, Timothy.
Visitation will be Monday June 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM at the J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral Service will begin at 3:30 PM followed by burial in the Coley Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mars Hill Church of Christ Building Fund or to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
