Mr. Lawrence Scott, 92, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away on Saturday, June 15, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.
Lawrence was born on January 21, 1932 in Tompkinsville, KY, a son of the late Fred T. and Vola (White) Scott.
On July 14, 1956, Lawrence married Lois Muse at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel in Indianapolis, IN.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Army during the Koren Conflict and was stationed in Germany at that time. He delivered the Courier Journal for 25 years, and the Tompkinsville News for a few years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he had previously been branch president. He served on the Kentucky Farm Bureau board for 50 years. Lawrence was also known far and wide as a strawberry grower.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois Scott, of Tompkinsville, KY; their two children, Michael Scott, of Tompkinsville, KY and Diane Seamon (Bill), of Old Hickory, TN; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Michael Scott, William Lawrence Seaman, Shaun Seaman, Scott Cameron Seaman and Matthew Seaman and 4 great grandchildren, Theo, Summer Brooke, Cameron and Charlie Scott Seaman; and one sister, Mary Jewell Cordingly, of Scottsville, KY.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Ervin, John Freeman and Elmer Glen Scott.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19 at 11:00 a.m. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow at Scott Pleasant Acres Cemetery.
