The Barren County School District has issued the following press release:
GLASGOW, KY – The Barren County Board of Education has named Christa Middleton as Director of Special Programs. Mrs. Middleton attended Western Kentucky University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2003), Master of Arts in Education for Learning and Behavior Disorders (2006), Rank 1 Certification for Director of Special Education (2019), and Level I Principal Certification (2020).
Christa began her career with Barren County Schools as a Special Education teacher, working at
Barren County Middle from 2004-2009 and North Jackson Elementary from 2009-2019. Currently, she serves as a Teacher Consultant for Special Programs, the English Learner Coordinator, and the Trojan Way Center Coordinator.
Outgoing Director of Special Programs Cynthia York commented, “I have worked closely with Christa throughout her time in Barren County Schools, and she has excelled in every position she has held. She has developed as a leader who has a heart for students, and I know she will do outstanding work in this new role.”
Mrs. Middleton expressed her appreciation, “I am honored to be named as the next Director of Special Programs for Barren County Schools. I look forward to serving in this capacity and carrying forward Barren County’s commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments that empower all students to reach their full potential.”
Mrs. Middleton will officially begin her new role on July 1.
