Patricia “Patsy Kay” Patterson Paxton

Patricia “Patsy Kay” Patterson Paxton, age 80 of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Mitchell Patterson and Lois Morrison Patterson, was born on Tuesday, July 20, 1943, in Green County and departed this life peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

She was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, was a retired Human Resource Manager of the Kentucky Department of Transportation District 4 in Elizabethtown, as well as City Clerk of Greensburg. She enjoyed being active in the community serving on the Green County Arts Council, Green County Junior Miss, United Women of Faith, the inaugural Green County Cow Days Committee and was the Parade Co-Grand Marshal in 2023. Additionally, she loved to paint and play the piano, having started playing the piano in church when she was 14 years old.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rex Paxton on January 4, 2021, having united in marriage on November 30, 1959.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Anne Paxton Moore and Howard Moore of Greensburg, and Beth Paxton Klein and Richard Klein of Louisville; four grandchildren: Hayes Moore and wife, Korianne of Greensburg, Chelsea Klein and husband, Zach Sosnovich of Louisville, Gaither Moore and wife, Mary of Bowling Green, and Casey Klein of Lexington; three great-grandchildren: Brooks Moore, Kade Moore, and Charli Moore; a brother and sister-in-law: Richard and Katie Patterson of Bardstown; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Patricia “Patsy Kay” Patterson Paxton will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Central Time, Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the Greensburg United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Bro. Dale Curry officiating. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, Greensburg in charge of the service arrangements.

Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M., Central Time, Tuesday at the Greensburg United Methodist Church and after 10 A.M., Wednesday at the church until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Green County Arts Council or the Greensburg United Methodist Church.
