Kentucky State Police Post 03 Bowling Green was requested by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a three vehicle collision in the 6000 block of North Jackson Highway around 3:30PM Thursday.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Rylee Gibbons, 20, of Glasgow was operating a silver Hyundai Elantra south bound on North Jackson Highway. Gibbons crossed the center line colliding with a blue Nissan Rogue, that was operated by Jennifer Hishmeh, 58, of Glasgow. Hishmeh was traveling north bound on North Jackson Highway. Mania Johnson, 32, of Glasgow was operating a red Jeep Cherokee that was also north bound on North Jackson Highway collided with the Nissan Rogue following the initial collision. Alveda Jessie, 80, of Cave City was the passenger of the Nissan Rogue and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office. The others involved were transported to T.J. Sampson Hospital where they will be treated for their injuries.
The investigation is being led by Detective Allen Shirley. He was assisted on the scene by Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Glasgow Police Department, Barren-Metcalfe EMS and the Barren County Coroner’s Office.
