MURRAY, Ky. (December 11, 2023) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a collision that claimed the life of a Graves County woman Sunday afternoon.
Around 12:15pm KSP Post 1 received a call from the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office requesting troopers investigate a three vehicle collision that occurred on US-641 North at the intersection of Radio Road.
Initial investigation determined that Janice Gream, 72 of Mayfield, was driving a 2021 Buick Envision west on Radio Road, and attempted to cross US-641. Cody Mitchell, 29 of Almo, was driving a 2023 International rollback wrecker north on US-641. Dennis Loetscher, 41 of Water Valley, was driving a 2001 Buick sedan south on US-641.
Gream began crossing the northbound lanes of US-641, into the path of Mitchell’s wrecker. Mitchell struck the driver’s side of the Gream’s vehicle, then continued across the median, striking Loetscher’s Buick sedan in the southbound lanes, and coming to final rest off the roadway.
Gream was pronounced deceased at the scene. Gream’s passenger, Stephen Hall, was airlifted to an out of state hospital. Mitchell and Loetscher did not report any injuries.
Trooper Jackson is conducting the ongoing investigation.
