(October 24, 2023) MAMMOTH CAVE, KY – The Sloan’s Crossing Pond Walk trail and picnic area at Mammoth Cave National Park will closed from starting today until late spring 2024 to complete a rehabilitation project of the wooden boardwalk that circles the pond. Work includes installation of new decking material and repair of existing overlook areas.
Construction impacts to the Mammoth Cave Railroad Bike and Hike Trail will be minimal. A detour has been installed for pedestrians and cyclists to bypass the construction area.
