Phyllis Ann Pendleton, 76, of Bowling Green, Ky, went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug 29, 2023.
Born Phyllis Ann Dennison, she was born and raised in Glasgow, Ky and graduated from Austin Tracy HS. She married her high school sweetheart Joe E. Pendleton and moved to Bowling Green, Ky in 1963 to help establish Pendleton Dairy Farms. Phyllis often worked alongside her husband in the fields and milk barn, driving the tractor or in tobacco. They recently celebrated their 60-year anniversary.
Phyllis was a devoted mother to her 3 children and doting “Maw Maws” to her 3 grandchildren. She never missed a practice, game, or special school event and often served as class mom, scout leader, and neighborhood taxi for other children and friends. She was an outstanding cook, and tirelessly grew beautiful vegetable and flower gardens for her family. She truly made a house a home, and sacrificed to give her children the best childhood they could ever hope for.
Phyllis had a deep love and connection to nature and the beach in particular. She enjoyed spending time with her family in Gulf area of Florida it was her happy place.
She served as deputy jailer for over 14 years and graduated from PJ School of Cosmetology. Phyllis always treated everyone with respect. Her loving personality, humor, kindness and beauty impacted many lives. The world has been made a better place because of Phyllis.
She is survived by her loving husband Joe E. Pendleton, children Beth Pendleton Byrd, Matt E. Pendleton (Debi) and Fallon Pendleton Doolin (Jeremy) grandchildren William, Matthew, joseph Byrd, half-brothers Tim and Todd Bow, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Doris Dennison, brother David Dennison and sister Patty Wilson and special mother-in-law Willie V. Pendleton
Graveside services will be Friday Sept. 1, 2023 at 2pm in Bowling Green Gardens. Family kindly request no flowers. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
