Trees down, dangerous travel this morning in Glasgow

GLASGOW – Travelers in the city of Glasgow need to be cautious this morning.  Shown is a large tree completely across Columbia Avenue in Front of EastBrook Trailer Park.  Power lines are wrapped up in this tree which will slow down the process of moving it.  Other trees are reported to be blocking the road at Woodlawn Avenue, also along Highway 63.  Almost 3 inches of rain was recorded overnight.  Disaster and Emergency Services has reported at least two persons being removed in water rescues from homes in the county and several other homes reported with water rising.  DES Coordinator Garland Gilliam says that at least 10,000 customers in Barren County are without power as of 3:30 am.  Again use extra caution.  Workers have not been able to reach all the affected areas.
