Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center 2nd Annual Honors Day Awards

(Glasgow April 24, 2023) The Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center (BRACAC) hosted its 2nd Annual Honors Day Awards on Friday, April 21st. Adam Bow, Resa Gardner, and Micah Reece all received awards at the ceremony.

Detective Adam Bow with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office received the Excellence Award for Diligence for his work investigating cases related to child exploitation and child sexual and physical abuse. His tireless work has resulted in the arrest and conviction of several individuals who have abused children in Barren County.

Resa Gardner with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office also received the Excellence Award for Diligence. Resa is an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, and has focused on prosecuting and trying child sexual abuse cases. At trial, Resa has secured convictions and some of the largest sentences in Barren County against individuals who have sexually abused children in Barren County.

Micah Reece with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office received the Community Advocate Award. Micah is the Victim’s Advocate in the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. Micah received the award for her excellence in advocating for and communicating with victims of child abuse and their families.

All three recipients are well deserving of the recognition for their efforts to protect children in our community and to seek justice on their behalf.
