GLASGOW — Crews with Farmers RECC said they expected to make good progress Sunday on power restoration.

Around 5,671 people were still without electricity across the entire Farmers RECC viewing area on Sunday at 4 p.m. The utility said about 60 operations personnel were in the field restoring outages, plus support staff and other employees working behind the scenes.

“Everyone is committed to restoring service to as many members as possible today,” a news release said. “First, we want to say that we understand this has been a difficult few days for our members. We understand the inconvenience and disruption power outages cause.”

Farmers RECC continued to urge its members to seek alternate plans if they have electricity-dependent medical equipment or other equipment in need of power. Full restoration could take several more days.

“Our priority is the safety of our members and employees. Continue to stay away from downed power lines,” a news release said. “Always assume that any line is conducting electricity. If you are running a generator, make sure it is in a well-ventilated area.”

Some areas have power while others do not. Farmers RECC said breakers should be checked in panel boxes to ensure they are not tripped. Some homes in the same area could have power while their neighbors do not. This is because homes are served by different substations, lines or transformers in some areas. Individual lines could also be damaged at your home’s service line or service connection point.

Outages should be reported to their mobile app, through their member center, or by calling (270) 651-2191. The Farmers RECC’s Outage Viewer which shows current outage information can be assessed at FarmersRECC.com/outageupdate.

“We appreciate your patience and prayers!”
