GLASGOW — A high wind warning is in effect for much of the southcentral Kentucky area through Monday evening.
The warning was issued just before 2 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Southwest winds around 25 to 35 mph with widespread gusts over 50 mph are expected. Some isolated wind gusts over 60 mph could occur, they said.
Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages and travel are expected to be impacted.
People should avoid being outside in the area and around trees. If possible, remain at the lower level of your home during the wind events and avoid windows.
The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. CST.
