GLASGOW — A Glasgow Police detective is facing allegations after a woman said he touched her in an inappropriate manner last month.

Guy J. Turcotte, 56, was named as the respondent in a petition filed for an emergency protective order. A 29-year-old woman, whose identity is being withheld due to the nature of the allegations, filed the petition following a discussion with the police. Turcotte is the former chief of police and a former candidate for Barren County sheriff.

Turcotte allegedly went to the woman’s place of employment and asked about certain services provided there. While helping him, the woman said she asked Turcotte about his gun and he confirmed he was a detective. The woman said she told Turcotte she carries pepper spray “due to being so small, I’m easily kidnapped.”

“He made a comment about me being cute and how he could see why some one would [kidnap],” the woman wrote on the petition.

The allegations go on to describe how Turcotte left a note on a sign-in sheet — “♥UⒼ”.

The woman said the note “freaked” her out but she remained “professional” throughout the encounter. He also allegedly “placed his hand firmly below my panty line and held me tightly against him and didn’t let go when I tried to pull away.”

The EPO also requested that Turcotte be restrained from committing any further acts, contacting the woman and visiting her place of employment. Judge Mica Pence has taken the case under submission and ordered that Turcotte have no contact with the woman.

Glasgow Police and Kentucky State Police are investigating the incident, according to the EPO. Glasgow Police deferred all questions to the mayor and city attorney of Glasgow.

Rich Alexander, city attorney, declined in a phone call with WCLU News on Wednesday afternoon to comment on whether Turcotte remained employed or was on administrative leave. He said the city would release a statement “at the appropriate time.”

WCLU News also sought comment from Ben Rogers, Turcotte’s attorney, to no avail.
