Officials respond to threat made against Glasgow Ind. Schools

Dec 11, 2022 | 11:15 AM

GLASGOW — Local, state and federal authorities concluded Saturday that a threat made to Glasgow Independent Schools was not a danger to students or staff.

Detectives Andrew Moore and Sgt. Aaron Cowan investigated the complaint and determined that a juvenile had posted a threat to Snapchat. The alleged threat said the student had plans to “shoot up students at school or at a ballgame and I hate Glasgow Schools.”

Officers located the juvenile and charged them with second-degree terroristic threatening. The identity of the juvenile was not disclosed.

“The Glasgow Police Department and Glasgow School System take all threats serious and work diligently together to keep all students safe,” according to a news release.

The Glasgow Police Department was assisted by the Kentucky State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
