GLASGOW — A Metcalfe County woman is dead following a crash along Burkesville Road Tuesday morning.

Kentucky State Police said they were requested to the scene of the crash just after 8:30 a.m. The Barren County Sheriff’s Office was initially on scene of the incident near the 6700 block of Burkesville Road.

A preliminary investigation indicates Heather E. Slater, 44, of Edmonton, was driving a 2015 Dodge Caravan westbound along Burkesville Road. Slater’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2011 Toyota Highlander, according to a news release. Michael C. Forsythe, 43, of Princeton, was driving that vehicle.

Slater’s vehicle continued on striking a third vehicle also traveling eastbound. Police said Timothy Jackson, 62, of Winneconne, Wisc., was a driving that vehicle, which was a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox.

Karrie J. Selner, 62, of Edmonton, was the front passenger in the van that crossed the center line. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operators of all three vehicles, along with a passenger in the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, were transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Detective Michael Waggener is in charge of the ongoing investigation.
