Metcalfe joins counties to declare burning ban

EDMONTON — Metcalfe County has joined the list of Kentucky counties with a burning ban in place.

Judge/Executive Harold Stilts issued the ban on Oct. 10, stating drought conditions there. The ban comes amid several other counties with similar bans.

According to the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, many of these counties are in southern Kentucky.

The bans are in place until further notice. Though significant rain drenched the area on Wednesday afternoon, it remains unclear if these bans will be lifted.
