Deborah (Debbie) Lynn Newsome, 75, of Gallatin, TN, died in her own home on October 31, 2026.

Debbie was born in Franklin, KY, in 1951 to Joel and Dorothy Johnson. Debbie loved God and devoted her life to being a Sunday School Teacher and a witness for his Word. Debbie also loved her family with all her heart and enjoyed hosting dinners and events to create new memories and talk fondly of the days growing up with her parents, five siblings, and many nephews and nieces. Shopping was another love of Debbie. Whether it was in her favorite vacation spot, The Great Smoky Mountains, or at a local department store, she got a gleam in her eye every chance she got to go shopping.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Joel and Dorothy Johnson, siblings Patsy Johnson (Hank), Joel Johnson (Lillian), and Bonnie Hall (Alan). She is survived by husband Steve Newsome, son Jacob Ogles, daughter Elizabeth Whitney (Dustin), son Stephen Newsome (Courtney), daughter Tifanie Simpson, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren and siblings Tommy Johnson (Sherry) and Kim Workman (Mark). She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.

Debbie’s Celebration of Life will be held on November 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Liberty United General Baptist Church in Adolphus, KY. Food will be available in the Fellowship Hall directly after the Ceremony. In place of flowers, donations to HighPoint Hospice in Gallatin, TN, would be greatly appreciated.
