Joe Marrs Kerr, 81, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Monroe County Medical Center.
Marrs was born in Monroe County, KY on October 5, 1945, a son of the late Hazel (Collins) and Welby Earl Kerr.
Marrs married his wife, Modell Graves, on February 19, 1966 with Charles Petett officiating.
Marrs was a member of Lyons Chapel Church of Christ.
Marrs made a career working at Belden Wire & Cable and spent some time working at Monroe County War Memorial Hospital.
Along with his wife Modell Kerr, Marrs is survived by a son, Randy Marrs Kerr, of Tompkinsville, KY, along with three grandchildren, Marrissa Kerr (Dylan), Calvin Kerr (Kim), and Caitlyn; and five great grandchildren.
Marrs is also survived by a brother, Tony Kerr, and wife, Relda, of Jamestown, KY; a sister-in-law, Joyce Kerr, of Tompkinsville, KY, and an aunt, Ruth Anderson, of Indianapolis, IN along with a host of cousins and friends.
Along with his parents, Hazel and Welby Kerr, Marrs was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Kerr.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY with Kevin Williams and Junior Copas officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn in Tompkinsville, KY.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27th and 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY.
