STAFF REPORT
Glasgow News 1
The Caverna Independent Board of Education will consider participation in a state scholarship program, review ongoing facility improvements and discuss the district’s dyslexia policy during its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Among the items on the agenda is a proposal for the district to participate in the Kentucky Education Fund, a tax-credit scholarship program. Board members are expected to consider whether the district should participate, though the agenda does not outline what that participation would entail.
The board will also consider change orders related to several ongoing construction projects, including roof repairs, track improvements and canopy work. Another item calls for the board to accept an offer of assistance through the Kentucky Education Technology Funding Program, which provides matching funds to help school districts purchase and improve educational technology.
Board members are also scheduled to review the district’s dyslexia policy and plan, which addresses how students with reading difficulties are identified and supported.
Superintendent Amanda Abell is also expected to recognize students and staff, while routine business includes financial reports, bus inspections, grants and schoolwide fundraising activities.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at the Caverna Central Office in Cave City, with an opportunity for public comment included on the agenda.
