Glasgow News 1

Groove & Glow is set to bring hot air balloons, live music and family activities back to Glasgow Municipal Airport this Saturday evening.

Entertain Glasgow, which organizes the annual event, says this year’s festival will run from 4 to 9 p.m. at the airport, located at 390 Airport Road.

Admission and parking are free.

Organizers expect 10 hot air balloons at this year’s Groove & Glow, with two balloons offering tethered rides.

Tethered rides will cost $10 per person, and tickets will be available at the event.

The signature balloon glow is expected to take place around sunset, weather permitting.

Beyond the balloons, the evening will feature a variety of family-friendly attractions.

Entertain Glasgow says the event will include inflatables, face painting and a children’s train ride.

A gaming truck, which organizers describe as new to Groove & Glow this year, will also be on site.

Food will be a major part of the night, with about 15 to 16 food trucks expected to set up at the airport.

Visitors will be able to sample a range of options while taking in the balloon glow and music.

Live performances are scheduled to begin around 6 p.m.

Local band The Dad Bods is set to open the music lineup, followed by Nashville-based ’80s tribute band The Spazmatics.

The mix of local and regional acts is intended to keep the crowd entertained throughout the evening.

Groove & Glow returned in 2025 after the 2024 event was canceled because of a scheduling conflict with the hot air balloon company.

Organizers say last year’s event drew hundreds of people to the airport for music, food, family activities and the balloon glow, and they are preparing for another strong turnout this year.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs so they can relax and enjoy the balloons and performances throughout the night.
