Tex Junior Wheat, Tompkinsville

Tex Junior Wheat, 79, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Monday, September 14th, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.

Tex was born in Adair County, KY on November 5, 1946, a son of the late Hettie (Turner) and Willard Wheat.

He worked as a welder at Stephens MFG and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He had a love for cars and enjoyed spending his time working on them.

Tex is survived by two daughters, Melissa Bohanan (Troy), of Lafayette, TN; Cheyenne Wheat, of Bowling Green, KY., and a son,Tony Wheat (Kristie), of Lafayette, TN; three grandchildren, Jacob Wheat (Sara), Alyssa Lockhartt (MJ), and Demisa Manion (Austin); 7 great grandchildren.

Tex is also survived by a sister, Nyoka Hestand, of Tompkinsville, KY.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Mark and Bobby Wheat, grandson, Trever Bohanan, and daughter-in-law, Vickie Wheat.

Per Tex’s request, cremation has been chosen. A graveside service will be held at Harlan’s Crossroad Cemetery on Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 p.m.

Arrangements under the direction of Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
