Chad Steerman, age 18 of Cub Run, KY, passed away, Sunday, September 13, 2026. He was a 2026 graduate of Hart County High School and a cook at Olive Garden in Elizabethtown.
Chad was such a light in everyone’s life, there wasn’t a day that he didn’t make some type of dad joke to make someone laugh or smile. He was an extraordinary person who accepted everyone for who they were. Chad loved to cook and eat, he found joy in riding his motorcycle and being with friends and family. He was so hard working and wanted everyone around him to be smiling and wearing his favorite color pink, because he loved to support the breast cancer survivors. Chad loved climbing on bridges and taking walks, as well as hanging with his best buds, his dog, Baseball and best friend, Tristan Downs
He is the son of David Lindsey and Katherine Kingsbury Steerman Lindsey of Cub Run, KY.
He is survived by his parents; his sister, Alix Steerman (Nathan Decker), Upton, KY; his maternal grandparents, Harold Jerry Steerman and Jane M. Steerman, Louisville, KY; two aunts, Sarah Adams (Manylon), CA; Courtney Dauenhauer (Brian Ruberg), St. Louis, MO; two uncles, John Steerman (Jacque Krages), Louisville, KY, Jerry Barnes, Louisville, KY; his “grandma”, Connie Dauenhauer, Louisville, KY; great- aunt, Bonnie Allen, Louisville, KY; his cousins, Corrinna Barnes (Trey Davis), Louisville, KY, Blaze Barnes, Louisville, KY, Lyndon and Magnolia Adams, CA; other-dad, Donnie “Chainsaw” Jarboe, Cub Run, KY; several other extended family and many friends.
The family will welcome friends from 1:00- 8:00 PM CT on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 and again from 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
