Wendell D. Harris “Windy”, 91, born September 13, 1934 in Park City, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Wendell was a son of Thurston and Alean Harris.
Wendell was in the Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict/War. During his time of service he lost his left thumb while working on an aircraft.
After Wendell’s time in service he loved being a certified mechanic at McCord auto supply (Goodyear). His specialty in alignments was well known all across the community. His passions were working in his garden, going fishing and spending time with his family.
Wendell married the love of his life Mildred “Jackie” Keeton on August 23, 1975, recently sharing their 51st Anniversary.
Wendell is survived by his wife: Mildred “Jackie” Harris; eight children: Bonnie Zinman (Michael), Tina Strasser (Matt), Debbie Harris/Chatelain (Mark), Wendell David Harris, Jr., Tonya Harris/Wilson, Kevin Harris (Kim), Wendy Harris and Crystal Gorbett (Daniel); one sister: Mary Gillespie; one brother: Roundell Harris (Sandra). Twenty nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special niece Sharon “Cookie” Moss.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister: Nancy Landis; two brothers: Bobby and Charles Junior Harris.
Funeral will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Sunday until time for services. Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will provided military honors at the funeral home.
