The Glasgow Police Department has issued a warning about people impersonating Glasgow Electric Plant Board employees.

The police department stated that there are people going door-to-door pretending to be EPB employees. They are not wearing EPB-branded clothes.

“The individuals have reportedly been attempting to speak with residents about changing their service to Windstream/Kinetic,” the police stated on social media. “They are reportedly on foot and are not displaying company identification or logos.”

The plant board said all of its employees wear branded clothes, drive marked vehicles and call ahead if they need to enter a home for work.

Police said residents should not let anyone inside and should not share personal or financial information until they have verified who they are.

“If you are unsure whether someone is legitimately representing Glasgow EPB, contact EPB directly at 270-651-8341,” the post stated.

Police are asking residents to pass along the warning, especially to elderly or vulnerable neighbors.
