The Far Off Broadway Players are inviting local performers of all ages to audition for their holiday stage production of “It’s a Wonderful Life” in Glasgow.
Organizers say open auditions will be held Friday, Sept. 11 beginning at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 12 beginning at 1 p.m. at the FOBP Studio, located at 206 North Race Street in Glasgow.
Adults, teens and children are needed to fill a large cast of characters from the classic story set in the small town of Bedford Falls.
The production is described as a faithful adaptation of the beloved film, written by James W. Rodgers, and features all of the familiar roles.
Those include George Bailey, his wife Mary, guardian angel Clarence, Uncle Billy, Violet, and the wealthy town villain Henry F. Potter, along with members of the Bailey family and townspeople.
Casting information provided by the group lists character types and suggested age ranges, from children as young as 7 to older adult roles such as Mr. Gower, Mother Bailey and Aunt Tilly.
The group says no prior theater experience or advance preparation is necessary to audition.

The play will be directed by Sara Just and Marie Guthrie and is scheduled to be staged at the Plaza Theatre on Dec. 11, 12 and 13.
Organizers say the show celebrates both the faith of the holiday season and an American philosophy of life centered on hard work, fair play and strong family and community support.
