Glasgow News 1

Leadership Barren County is now accepting applications for its 2026-2027 leadership development program, a nine-month course focused on giving participants a behind-the-scenes look at the community.

The exclusive class is designed to give emerging and established leaders the tools, connections and confidence to make a difference locally. The program runs for nine months and includes monthly day-long sessions.

Participants also take part in two overnight retreats that are intended to deepen relationships and provide more intensive learning experiences. A hands-on group project is a key part of the curriculum, allowing class members to apply what they learn to a real-world community initiative.

Leadership Barren County also offers access to an alumni network, giving graduates ongoing connections and support beyond the program year.

Organizers describe the program as an opportunity for both personal and professional growth. They say it is aimed at people who want to invest in themselves while contributing to the future of Barren County.

Scholarships are available to help some participants cover the cost of taking part in the program.

Applications for the 2026-2027 class are due by 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026. Prospective applicants are encouraged to apply early and ensure materials are submitted by the deadline.
