Southcentral Kentucky could experience a couple of weather-related issues Tuesday. Severe weather is expected starting in the afternoon and moving through the evening. Southcentral Kentucky is in the slight risk area, according to the National Weather Service. The anticipation of the severe threat is expected farther to the Northeast near Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati.

Barren County Emergency Management says to review your weather plan and prepare for storms by doing the following:

* Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings, especially while you’re at work or asleep.
* Identify your safe space by looking for a location in an interior room on the lowest level of your home away from windows.
* Charge your phones and electronic devices.
* Have flashlights ready in case of power outages.
* Secure loose outdoor items that could become airborne in strong winds.

Barren County is also under a heat advisory Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. The weather service states heat and high humidity will create heat index values of 105 to 110. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
