Glasgow High School has selected Cedric Vaughn as its new athletic director. He will assume the duties immediately, according to a press release from school principal Joey Norman.

Norman said Vaughn’s passion for GHS athletics, his coaching connections and his work ethic matched what leaders were seeking in their next athletic director.

Norman said the hiring process drew several strong candidates, but Vaughn stood out as exceptional.

Vaughn will follow Bailey Alexander-Garmon, who served in the athletic director role for years and oversaw the success and growth of Glasgow athletics.

In addition to his new administrative duties, Vaughn will continue serving as an exceptional education teacher at the high school.

He will also remain the head track coach, a role that keeps him closely connected with student-athletes. Vaughn will begin working with coaches, the community and alumni in an effort to further connect Glasgow’s athletic legacy to its future, Norman said in the press release.
