Barren County Schools Superintendent Amy Irwin received an “exemplary” rating from school board members during their regular monthly meeting last Thursday night at the district’s central office.
Board members met in closed session to discuss the district’s leader and returned to open session to present their summative evaluation of the superintendent.
“Following our performance review of our superintendent, Mrs. Amy Irwin, we’ve given her an ‘exemplary’ evaluation,” said Board Vice-Chair Mike Miller as he read the board’s statement. “We feel that she exceeds the standards of Kentucky superintendents when it comes to our kids and our district.
“Her professionalism and devotion to our staff and our board, through tribulations that most could not adhere, have been awe-inspiring.”
Miller said the board looks forward to “a bright future under her continued guidance and leadership.”
“I know many here would feel the same way,” he said. “We just feel blessed to have you as a superintendent.
“Thank you for doing an exemplary job.”
Irwin thanked the board for their support.
“It is an honor to serve,” she said. “I think everybody in this room knows how much I love Barren County Schools.
“Thank you for the opportunity to continue serving.”
