Glasgow woman arrested on burglary, drug charges after storage unit theft

A Glasgow woman is facing multiple burglary, theft and drug-related charges after she was allegedly caught taking items from a storage unit.

Megan R. Thomas, 33, of Glasgow, was arrested Monday after she was allegedly found taking items out of a storage unit off of Kentucky Street, according to a Glasgow Police Department press release. Officer Colton Riley was conducting extra patrol in the area of and found a woman the taking items from the storage unit. The lock on that unit had been cut. There were also items suspected of being stolen from the unit inside Thomas’ vehicle.

Officers then searched the vehicle and reportedly found drugs and drug paraphernalia along with burglary tools. Thomas was charged with third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property valued between $1,000 and $10,000, possession of burglary tools, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, (methamphetamine) drug paraphernalia, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Thomas remains in the Barren County Detention Center as of Tuesday morning with a $5,000 cash bond, according the the jail website.
