The Barren County Fiscal Court will take up a slate of financial, transportation and public safety items at its first meeting of May. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 9 a.m. in the fiscal court chambers at the Barren County Government Center.
Magistrates are expected to open the new business section by considering approval of the minutes from their April 21, 2026 meeting. The agenda also calls for a vote on payment of claims, as presented, and the approval of transfers of funds.
The court is scheduled to authorize signing of an Emergency Management Performance Grant non-supplanting certification, along with the federal fiscal year 2025 EMPG contract. Members also plan to consider a modification to the FFY 2023 EMPG contract that would include distribution of excess funds.
Road funding for the county is also on the table. The court is set to consider a resolution and agreement with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for County Road Aid for fiscal year 2026–2027.
In addition, the agenda lists an item to approve advertisement for a construction manager request for qualifications tied to the planned Agriculture Exposition Center. The court is also expected to review a renewal quote for the Barren County Community Emergency Response Team program.
Other business includes approving a court facilities local government reimbursement form and considering a modification for Barren River Lake law enforcement services.
The next fiscal court meeting is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
