The annual Derby Dog Festival on Saturday drew a large four-legged crowd and their humans. The event is a fundraiser for the Barren River Animal Welfare Association and is hosted by the Barren River Lake State Resort Park in southern Barren County.
It includes Police K-9, animal herding dog and obedience demonstrations. It also offers many opportunities for the civilian dogs and their humans to participate in specialty events. There was an agility course, and a chase the lure course, plus photo ops and more. There was also a ice cream eating contest for dogs.
