RECAP: Scotties fall at Bowling Green, 6-2

Glasgow struggled to score runs Monday at Bowling Green and fell, 6-2.

The Scotties’ got a solid pitching outing from the duo of Braylon Caldwell and Garett Shields. They combined to give up eight hits and strike out five. They did walk five. Glasgow, though, managed only four hits in the game.

Hudson Gumm led at the plate with a pair of hits, while Keaton Haynes and Thomas Glass posted the other two hits.

The Scotties fell behind 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning, then responded with a run in the top of the second to tie the game.

Glass led off that inning with a single. He stole second during Caldwell’s at-bat, and scored on a ground ball by Huston Haynes.

The Scotties’ other run came in the top of the fourth when they trailed 3-1. Glass drew a walk to lead off, then stole second. He moved to third on a ball hit by Huston Haynes that was misplayed. Glass scored on a sacrifice bunt by Landon Martin.

Bowling Green scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to lead 5-2 after four innings.

Glasgow returns to action Tuesday against Caverna at 5 p.m.
