Barren County returned from a Spring break and squeaked out a 15th District win at Warren East, 3-2, Monday.

The win was powered by a two-run homer by Adley Cunningham in the top of the fourth inning. Khloe Westmoreland hit a one-out double, then Cunningham followed with a blast to center field. Harlee Walker had entered to run for Westmoreland and scored on the home run.

The Lady Raiders chipped away and tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning. They scored a run each in the fifth and sixth.

The Trojanettes scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh. Norah Shirley hit a lead-off single. Then Shea Bogue drew a walk and put runners at first and second. Miley Kaumanns was on second after she entered to run for Shirley, and Jaycee Chambers entered to run for Bogue.

Addie Wheeler moved Kaumanns and Chambers each up a base with a sacrifice to third base.

Kaumanns scored what proved to be the winning run when Hadley Elkins hit a ground ball to short that was misplayed.

In the bottom of the seventh, Bogue forced to two ground outs and struck out one to secure the district win. The Trojanettes improved to 1-1 in district action.

In seven innings in the circle, Bogue allowed six hits, struck out five and walked one. She also had two hits in the game.

Cunningham, Westmoreland, Bogue, and Lily Elmore each had two hits in the game.

Barren County (5-3 overall) returns to action Tuesday at home against Greenwood at 5:30 p.m.
