Several fire departments worked a fire off of New Salem Road near the Glasgow city limits Friday.

The home of Barren County Magistrate Jeff Botts caught fire Friday morning. At least five fire departments — East Barren, Haywood, Glasgow, Temple Hill and Summer Shade — responded to the call. Fire fighters continued to battle the blaze until at least 2 p.m. The initial call came at about 10 a.m.

One Glasgow fire fighter was injured in the fire fight, according to Glasgow Fire Chief Lucas Tinsley.

None of the family members were at the house at the time of the fire, according to John Botts. He is the magistrate’s brother who lives nearby.

No information as to the cause of the fire was available.
