In its second game in Florida, which was also Sunday, Barren County fell to Lafayette, 8-3. In this game like the other, a big inning by the opposition proved to be the difference.
The Generals scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to break open a 3-3 tie.
The Trojans scored three runs in the top of the fourth to tie the game. In that inning, Skylar Potter reached base on an error. After two outs, Landon Uhles reached base on an error and Potter was left on second base.
Jax Vincent drove in Wilson with a single, then Uhles scored on a single by Jordan Harris. Vincent advanced to third and later scored during Jaxon Pierce’s at-bat.
Cash McGuire, Brayden Weygandt and Vincent each saw time on the mound. They allowed nine hits, struck out seven and walked five.
Vincent, Harris, Pierce and Gavin Coffey each had hits in the game.
