Debra Allen Smith, age 69, passed away on April 2nd, 2026. The Warren County native was born on May 1st, 1956, to the late Cinda Meeks Raymer and James E. Allen. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley Allen and Larry Allen.
Lovingly known as ‘CooCoo’ by her grandchildren, Debra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved to travel and watch the Predators, travelling to 32 arenas in her life. Debra worked for 19 years at Square Deal Lumber Company. She also worked for Scott & Murphy Construction Company for 15 years. Once she retired, she worked as a registration clerk at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. In her spare time, she volunteered for CASA and Hotel Inc.
Debra is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey A. Smith of Smiths Grove; daughter, Jennifer (Jerry) Halcomb of Alvaton; son, Derik (Jean) James of Hart County; bonus children, Joshua (Jamie) Smith of Edmonton, Shannon (Andrew) Smith of Rochester, Minnesota, and Amanda (Josh) Smith of Bowling Green. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kyle Riney, Cody (Josie) Riney, Oscar Bell, Lyla James, Ruth Greenhaw, Nettie James, Sam Greenhaw; three great-grandchildren; her brother, Jimmy Allen of Hopkinsville; and step-father, Kenny (Bobbi) Raymer of Stanton.
The family is especially grateful to Jean James, Jennifer Halcomb, and Jimmy Allen for their care of Debra and her family throughout the final weeks of Debra’s life.
Cremation was chosen. The family will have a private memorial service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the J. C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel.
