Several students in the Glasgow Independent school district recently won awards at the elementary state Beta convention.
Highland Elementary took top honors in Campaign Skit, fourth place in Performing Arts Large Group and fifth place in Club Trading Pin and Living Literature.
South Green Elementary placed second in Songfest, third in Performing Arts Instrumentalist and Robotics, and fifth place in Performing Arts Large Group.
Highland’s Juri Iwamoto won first in Quilling, and Milena Miller placed first in Mixed Media. Ruby Garrett finished third in Jewelry and Maddelynn Mack placed third in fifth-grade Language Arts. Cannen Jones placed fourth in Hand Drawn Anime while Kimberly Zacarias took fourth in fourth-grade Spanish. Trenton Catron placed fifth in fifth-grade Science.
South Green’s Chase Thornbury won fifth-grade Math. Aunja Zipf took second in Painting, while Wilkie Stallons was second in fifth-grade Language Arts. Claudia Crain took fifth place in Creative Writing.
