With heavy hearts, the family of Randell H. Jewell, age 84, of Metcalfe County, announces the passing of their beloved father. He was a man of simple joys and strong values, someone who found happiness in the quiet beauty of the log woods, the patience of fishing, and the honest work of hauling milk. His life was built on dedication, hard work, and love for his family. He was a devoted father and proud grandfather. Nothing meant more to him than the time spent with his children and grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, offering a helping hand, or simply sitting together in comfortable silence, those moments were the ones he treasured most. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his kind heart, and the way he made those around him feel safe and loved. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the deep love he gave so freely. He is deeply missed and forever loved.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy (Short) Jewell; his second wife, Virginia “Jewell’ (Poynter) Jewell; his parents, Herman and Maureen (Lane) Jewell; one son, William Randell Jewell; one granddaughter, Megan Perry; one brother, William Ray “Bill” Jewell; one sister, Betty (Jewell) Akins and her husband, Waymon Akins.

He is survived by his seven children, Debbie Russell (Dean), of Horse Cave, Lisa Perry (Donnie), of Center, Tina Duncan (Shaun), of Bowling Green, Ronda Harbison (Kyle), of Edmonton, Nathan Jewell (Amanda King), of Glasgow, Whitney Barth (Brian), of Brownsville, and Amanda Lindsey, of Brownsville; 15 grandchildren, Jessica Mosby (Scotty), Samantha Coomer (Kyle), Kayce Russell, Zachary Mabe (Ariel), Nicholas Mabe (Madison), Tyler Bush (Kady Gowen), Autumn Lannan (Dakota), Matthew Jewell, Johnathan Jewell, Braxton Green, Brylee Barth, Braxton Harbison, Creed Harbison, Beckham Harbison, and Tiffany Harmon; six great-grandchildren, Raelyn Mosby, Elijah Marlin, Zayden, Travis, and Letty Mabe, and Tucker Mabe; two great-grandchildren on the way, Tatum Randell Mabe and John Thomas Lannan; a special niece, Anita Meek; two special nephews, Greg and Jeff Jewell; a former daughter-in-law, Crystal Jewell.

Funeral services will be held at Winn Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Winn Funeral Home on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 3:00 PM – 8:00PM and will resume after 9:00 AM on Tuesday until time of service.
