Students wanting to attend Western Kentucky University while also staying in Glasgow will now have another available degree.
The university is offering a new bachelor’s degree in human resource management beginning in Fall 2026, according to a university press release. This degree will be the 14th program that students can complete entirely at the Glasgow campus.
The program, which will be offered through WKU’s Gordon Ford College of Business and is accredited by AACSB-International, is designed to give students practical, career-ready knowledge that lines up with current workforce needs, according to the release. The curriculum emphasizes skills that can be put to work immediately in HR roles across a variety of industries.
Flexibility is also a key feature of the program, offering both online and face-to-face courses, which is intended to make it easier for working adults, place-bound students and traditional undergraduates to complete a four-year business degree without relocating, the release stated.
“The continued growth of WKU in Glasgow reflects a strong commitment to expanding access and opportunity for students in the region,” said Dr. Derick Strode, director of WKU regional campuses. “We are proud to bring the AACSB-accredited, internationally recognized Human Resources program to WKU in Glasgow so our students can train to become our area’s next generation of leaders without having to leave our community.”
Registration for the program is open now, according to the university release.
Employment for human resources specialists and managers is projected to grow faster than most other occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
