Margaret E. Foster, 85, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Magnolia Village. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. A Barren County native, Margaret led a life of unwavering care and comfort to others.
She was born on May 3, 1940, to the late Ernest “Bill” and Cynthia Compton. She went to school at Hiseville High School in Barren Co. and is a former employee of Sorensen and Houchens of Glasgow.
A true matriarch of her family, Margaret embodied the meaning of a selfless and nurturing caretaker. She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends, whether it was hosting a celebration or cooking a large meal. You never left her house hungry and always felt loved in her presence.
A woman of faith, Margaret attended Coral Hill Baptist Church for many years.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Compton Jr. (Joan).
Margaret is survived by her husband of 69 years, Douglas Foster. She has two children: Jeff Foster (Debbie) of Murfreesboro, TN and Brenda Dickson (Mike) of Alvaton. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Craig Dickson of Boston, MA, Morgan Smith (Grahm), and Ryan Foster of Murfreesboro, TN, and one great-grandchild, Fitz Smith.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
The family will accept friends on Monday, March 30th at 9:30AM at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane chapel, followed by a memorial service at 11:30AM officiated by Pastor Steve Williams. Inurnment will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery #2.
