Martha Jane Martin, age 85, of Hardyville, Ky, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin Hospital in Elizabethtown. Martha Jane and C.F. were avid supporters of 4-H and supporting agriculture for our youth. Her wall hangings were always the high selling item of the 4-H auctions. Martha Jane had a special talent for quilting; she was the very best. One year, she entered four quilts at the Kentucky State Fair, and she brought home four blue ribbons. She retired from the FSA office in 2002. She loved her family; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Some of her favorite times were mowing the yard and eating a honeybun.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Blanche Burd; brother, Bobby Ray Burd; sister, Jenny Lee Druen; one infant brother.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years; C.F. Martin; her two sons, Franklin Martin (Carol) and Jason Martin (Brooke); two grandchildren, Kacie Martin and Kayla Martin; two step-grandchildren, Tristan Murphy and Austin Martin; two great-grandchildren, Drew and Emmory Jane Williams; two step-great-grandchildren, SJ Chastine and Stelee Murphy; two sisters, Linda Cecil and Libby Mitchum.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Winn Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 12 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 9 AM until time of the service at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
