A zoning change, an annexation proposal and updates from several city departments are among the items scheduled for discussion when the Cave City City Council meets for a special session Thursday evening.
The council is set to convene at 5 p.m. at City Hall, where members will review financial reports, consider ordinance readings and hear updates from local agencies and department leaders.
Under financial business, council members will review February restaurant and transient room tax collections. The report shows $55,695.61 in restaurant tax revenue and $21,350.41 in transient room tax revenue, totaling $77,046.02 transferred to the Cave City Tourist and Convention Commission.
Council members will also review the city’s February cash analysis, which lists $14,324 in the police department’s savings account and $61,708 in the fire department’s checking account.
Several ordinances remain on the agenda under unfinished business. The council will hear the first reading of Ordinance 26-12-3a, which proposes annexing 137.90 contiguous acres into the city limits. A related measure, Ordinance 26-12-3b, would amend the text of the city’s zoning regulations.
Council members are also scheduled to consider the second reading of Ordinance 26-16-2, which would amend the city’s noise ordinance.
Under new business, the council will consider a 2025 road aid resolution.
Department activity reports are expected from Barren River Area Development District representative Matt Pedigo, Cave City Fire Chief Kevin Jandt, Police Chief Paul Reynolds and code enforcement officer Karisa Waddle.
Additional reports may come from city council committees, followed by the mayor’s report before adjournment.
