The Glasgow Independent Schools Board of Education meets tonight at 6:30 p.m., with several decisions on the agenda that could affect families across the district.

Members will hear an announcement of spring testing dates and are scheduled to select a school calendar for the 2026-27 academic year, according to the board’s published agenda.

In addition to calendar planning, the board is expected to consider a new program at Glasgow High School. The agenda lists approval of a memorandum of understanding with JAGKY for a Jobs for America’s Graduates program for the 2026-27 school year. The program is designed to support students as they prepare for life after high school.

Board members also have a number of routine operation items to address. They are scheduled to approve minutes from the Feb. 9 regular meeting, payment of claims, the February monthly financial report, the superintendent’s monthly timesheet and a slate of trips and fundraisers.

The trip list includes multiple academic competitions for the Glasgow High School academic team, a Bluegrass State Games appearance for boys soccer, travel for the Technology Student Association and an art-related trip for Glasgow Middle School students. On the student services side, the agenda calls for accepting a KETS second offer of assistance from the School Facilities Construction Commission for fiscal year 2026 in the amount of $18,685 for education technology funding. The board is also expected to approve a request to bid bus maintenance for the 2026-27 school year.

Several donations are listed for approval, including $500 to Glasgow High School, $750 to Glasgow Middle School, $750 to Highland Elementary School and $750 to South Green Elementary School. The board will also consider a request to extend a current employee’s extended disability leave through March 24, 2026.

The meeting begins with roll call, adoption of the agenda and time for public comment, followed by a presentation from the GAP organization and the superintendent’s notification of personnel actions taken since the last regular meeting.
