Several students from South Green and Highland elementaries recently won awards at the Region 8 Governor’s Cup event at Hiseville Elementary.
South Green was the overall runner-up for the event and placed fourth in Quick Recall. Chase Thornbury won first place in Math and Emelyn Moran took first in Arts and Humanities. The following South Green students won the following individual awards: Devika Nair, second in Science; Wilkie Stallons, third in Language Arts and Written Composition; Chase Thornbury, fifth in Language Arts; and JD Clements won fifth place in Written Composition.
Highland Elementary placed second in Future Problem Solving and fifth in Quick Recall. Trenton Catron placed third in Science.
