A Glasgow man has admitted guilt in connection with the 2023 shooting death of 35-year-old Roger L. Noland.

According to Barren County court proceedings, James Edward Campbell, represented by attorney Johnny Bell,  entered a guilty plea during a circuit court appearance on March 2 in Glasgow, and is expected to receive a 10 year sentence on the amended charge of second-degree manslaughter and both counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Resa Gardner said the commonwealth opposed probation in the case.

Campbell was originally charged with murder after Glasgow police arrested him in 2023 in connection with a shooting near 1414 N. Race St. that resulted in Noland’s death. In April 2023, a Barren County grand jury indicted him on a murder charge and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment due to other people being in the vicinity when Noland was shot.

Campbell’s sentencing is scheduled for April 27 at 1 p.m.
