Emmett Elwood Sydnor, age 75, of Canmer, KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Canmer, KY, defined by hard work, quiet strength, and deep love for his family and community.

A dedicated farmer, he spent his life working the land through Angus cattle, farming, and crop production. He took pride in caring for his cattle and cultivating his fields and embodying the values of stewardship, perseverance, and faith.

In addition to farming, he worked at Louisville Bedding Co. and Dart Container Corporation, he was known for his reliability, work ethic, and led by example.

He served the community as a bus driver and custodian for the Hart County School System and the Hiseville Elementary School in Barren County.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rebecca Sydnor; his children, one son, Jonathan (Cassie), one daughter, Victoria; his grandchildren, Rachel (Eddie), Audrey (Cameron), Hunter, Lance, Lane, Kennedie, Paxton, and Millie. Great-grandchildren, Beckham, Carson, and Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Elwood Sydnor and Alice Harlow Sydnor. One Son-In-Law, Mike Stanton.

The family will welcome friends from 1:00-8:00 PM CT on Monday, March 2, 2026, and again from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM CT on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM CT on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Lucas Hedgepeth officiating. Burial will follow in the Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer, KY.
